Call from my cousin17/02/2009

Hello again everybody. Not a lot going on today. The only thing really worth noting was a call that i received from my cousin. He lives in the same town as my uncle (please see previous days blog) Just to give you a little background on him. He is 43 and has spent more time in and out of prison than he has actually living any normal resemblance to a life. I am not saying that all people who have been in jail or bad but I'm not afraid to call them as i see them. He is a bad apple and my mom is worried that he is apt to do something bad to either my uncle or to the farm. I had a nice little chat with him voicing my concerns (he he) and I believe we came to a logical understanding:) Hopefully things will cool down, my mom can get a little frantic at times. Anyway that pretty much sums up the excitement for the day. Talk to you tomorrow.

Treasure is where you find it16/02/2009

In my last blog I had mentioned that I had just made a trip up north to see my uncle, who is in poor health. During the trip and I suppose as part of the visit he had my mom and myself go through some of the storage areas in the house and on the property. He understands that he isn't going to be around for forever and he wanted to make sure that things were divided among the family the way he wants. It took my mom forever to go through even the smallest of boxes. Guess there are a lot of memories there to deal with. Don't get me wrong though, she had a blast  going through things as did I. We were only ably to sift through a small percentage of the boxes and rooms as the snow outside and just the lack of time made giving things a through look impossible. Anyway I was amazed at the amount of antiques and items that I came across. there were things that haven't seen the light of day in decades. My uncle wants me to come back up there this spring and liquidate as much of the estate as possible and to be honest I am really looking forward to the trip. It should be a blast.

Visit up north16/02/2009

Good day to all. I hope everyone is doing well. I am hanging in there day to day. I am sure that some of you know the feeling. I recently went up north to see my uncle. He is in his 80's now and his health is starting to fail him. Seeing him brought back a lot of old memories and had me feeling nostalgic for most of my trip. My mom was glad to get a chance to see her brother and it was nice to see her and him joking around and walking down memory lane together. My mom knows that this was probably the last chance for her to see him alive and I am happy that I was able to take her up there for that. I hope this helps some of you remember those that you grew up with, if so than you should get on the phone and at least say hi to them. You might not get another chance!

Jan. 29 200929/01/2009

Another day in the books and I am beat. I'm not sure what is tougher working 90 plus hours a week or dealing with the stress and headaches looking for something new. I hope something breaks through soon or it could be a very bad spring.

On a brighter note the Superbowl is only a couple days away and I think I will be pulling for the Cardinals. I always have been a sucker for the underdog. If anything I hope that it will at least be an entertaining game. Something going down to the wire would be nice.

Ready for Spring28/01/2009

Winter is really starting to suck but unless your an Eskimo you probably feel the same way. Anyway just wishing spring would hurry up and get here. It will be nice to actually start getting out of the house and doing a little digging around. Anyone else feel the same way?

On a simpler note I just want to again push for the holiday season to be more like the olympics and only happen every 4 years. I know the kids would hate the idea but I am pretty sure that all us parents can find some solice in the idea. :)
