About

I will give any info that I have and share what I know about panning for Gold witch is not much but I hope it will help Some one get rich but it has not helped me much. But I have fun  trying. And see some neat places. Finding Gold in Al. is a lot different  Than Ga.

In Ga. Gold is found in Streams and hard rock up in the hills in Al. most are placers found in streams or in old stream beds witch  can be in the flat lands or up on top of a hill all the mines I found around Cleburne Co. are up on hills and in pastures . So you can see half the time I am looking in the wrong place. And most of the Gold is small flower but some nuggets can be found. Your best bet is dredging  in the Tallapoosa river or some of the larger streams.

Most of the Gold is east of Heflin and to the south witch is part of the Gold belt that comes for Northeast Ga. and runs down and across to West Ga, along the Carroll and Hairalson Co. lines. This means all the gold that gets in the Tallapoosa river in Ga. will at some time come to Al.

Arbacoochee is a small community  south of Heflin where most of the gold has been found near here. the trick is getting permission  from land owners some will let you if you will split what you find

some will say your crazy and tell you to get lost and some even get mad and I don't know why.

So your best bet is finding public access like boat ramps or some place you can park beside a stream and step off the road in to the water. I have hurd of a place near Weehadkee to go panning If I get a chance I'll got check it out and post my findings.

I have found a place near Line Ville Al. to go panning dredging and hi banking they have on site camping to  Alabama Gold Camp - Home

I have this group on other sites you can go join them as well

Villa Rice Ga. will soon be opening a gold museum I will ad more info as I get it.

Hi I  live in Heflin Alabama  But I lived in Ga, most of my life and thats where I started learning about Prospecting . One year my step father took us on vacation to Helen Ga. and we stopped at Delonaga  and we did some panning and I got hooked I was about 12 then I started ;earning more about treasure hunting and now  I have a Prospecting  group called Prospecting Ga And Alabama some places I use the & in stead .
I like all types of treasure hunting I am trying to build a sight where people can find out how and where to find gold and other treasures.
I am not a pro at this but I do find some thing when I go looking . There is what is called the gold belt It runs from Raburn Co.Ga.to the Alabama state line between Tallapoosa and Carrollton  Ga.but it don't stop there it comes in to Al. and runs south and east of Heflin  most people don't know the first gold rush was in Ga. in the 1830's and lasted till some one found gold in Calif. in 1849 then most of the miners went west and left a lot of gold here and if you are one of the lucky ones you can find it.
I have my group listed  all over the web it's here on MSN Myspace Treasure Adventures.net Yahoo facebook and maybe put on more later . Istarted on Myspace that is the main group but when you say your on mysace some people get crazy so I put it onYahoo next so folks will want to check us out . I have two members that we had a panning trip in Sept. near Canton GA. off Bells Ferry rd near the old Sixes Mine  we found a little gold and got to meet for the first time we had a good time and thats what I'm here for so if you want to learn about prospecting and treasure hunting you can join my group it is free to join and I ask al my members to tell there stories and put up pic's of what thay find but so far I am the only one putting anything on.
So join us and add what ever you can and lets make this group bigger and better than the G.P.A.A. I know that will be hard thats one big club and some day I want to join them to THAY have some goooood places to pan.
